Global Entrepreneurship Week is back this year Nov 16-22!
GEW is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.
During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them
to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
Hundreds of startup competitions from Greece to Tokyo took place throughout the week. Los Angeles hosted many GEW events including Techweek LA, tech crawl by TechZulu and our own Open Coffee Club on Thursday.
Techweek’s LA tent was set up right at the Santa Monica pier and I went to see it during Expo day. There were about 70 companies showcasing their products and competing in the startup Launch competition.
There were about 10 companies – former presenters of Santa Monica New Tech, including
SocialTagg, Enteractv, ParkMe, TalentSity and FingertipMaestro. The winner of the competition was QuickLegal.
In addition to some good panels there were numerous parties, hiring fair and fashion show.
